Our client, the leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services is seeking a Vice President - Sales Operations. This position reports to the Executive Vice President, Corporate Sales and Marketing.
Full-time in office (Boston) with travel up to 50%
The essential elements of the position include, but are not limited to:
Functional responsibility for sales-related activities associated with creating, maintaining, and enforcing policies and tools for Sales and Sales administrative support.
Responsible for implementation of determined Best Practices and for sales productivity improvements in all aspects of Sales strategy.
Directly manages Sales Administration and Sales Training personnel.
Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and reporting Sales Metrics and goals; reports Sales program and personnel performance by Vertical, Region and Line of Business (LOB) to monitor progress in attaining goals.
Responsible for oversight and review of Sales personnel performance with formal personnel recommendations to Sales management.
Development, maintenance and oversight of planned and implemented Sales personnel Performance Improvement Plans (PIP).
Develop and maintain Sales personnel interview and hiring protocols.
Sales Compensation Program oversight, review and control of Sales grade salary ranges; salary increase program actions; and development, implementation, administration of annual and special Sales Incentive and Bonus plans/programs. (All in full coordination and alignment with Corporate Finance and HR)
Direct management and oversight of Sales Training Department, including training requirements, tracking, programs, materials, budgets and other administrative tasks and responsibilities of the program.
Direct management, control, and oversight of annual and periodic Sales budgeting processes; including revenue, expense, and capital budgets. Responsibility for achieving revenue budget interlock with Services and Lines of Business groups. (All in alignment and coordination with Corporate Finance)
Work with Corporate Marketing and Sales in developing sales support material, technical presentations, etc.
Responsible for development, implementation, and oversight of protocol associated with periodic Sales personnel territory reviews and formal periodic performance evaluation processes (forms, format and content).
Recommend and support Sales-related initiatives and special programs.
Works closely with Finance and HR for all compensation, budgeting, and employee development activities for Sales.
Completes other assignments as assigned by management.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering or business.
Masters Degree in business administration preferred.
5+ years experience in a leadership role associated with Sales or Sales Operations management for a $500MM complex service company with a large distributed sales force.
Experience in the environmental industry, or related industries preferred.
Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access.

Ability to translate financial and statistical data into understandable terms for line managers.
