Responsible for: AfterCollege is looking for a hands-on accounting manager to manage various accounting functions and to help establish best practices and procedures as our company grows. This will be a part-time position with 30 hours a week. The Accounting Manager will need to prepare P& L and balance sheet accounting, post journal entries, reconcile accounts, conduct financial analysis and complete month-end, quarter-end and year-end reconciliation processes. AfterCollege provides a dynamic work environment in mission driven company composed of energetic and committed employees.
Essential Duties:
-Account receivables, including generating invoices and following up with aging receivables from clients and partners
-Reconciling online credit card purchases with in-house accounting systems
-Manage credit card charge-backs and similar billing issues
-Account payables and processing payments
-Processing payroll
-Processing expense reports
-Calculating sales and business development team commissions and bonuses
-Working with business development and partnerships groups at AfterCollege in managing billing logistics and revenue sharing
-Maintaining general ledger
-Reconciling bank accounts and credit card account balances with financial records
-Closing end-of-month financials and generating reports for management as needed including weekly, end of month and quarterly reports
-Working with company’s accounting firm in preparing financials for tax preparation
Qualifications
-The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role and in a small company setting. Attention to detail and reliability is an absolute requirement. -The position is hands on and requires someone who is proactive in working with management on monitoring expenses, cash flow, and identifying processes that can be made more efficient.
-Individuals should also have knowledge of QuickBooks, ADP TotalSource payroll processing and Salesforce.com.
-This position is ideal for someone with extensive experience who wants a close-to-full-time flexible schedule.
