A large museum in Philadelphia's historic district seeks a Public Relations Coordinator.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, and working closely with various members of the NCC staff, the Public Relations Coordinator will assist in implementing all public relations efforts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist Director with day-to-day public relations activities
2. Write and distribute press releases and media advisories
3. Develop, cultivate and maintain relationships with local and out-of-market media
4. Pitch exhibits, programs, public programs, educational initiatives and promotions to regional and out-of-market media
5. Assist with organization and execution of press events
6. Develop and implement creative activities to generate publicity for the organization
7. Coordinate and serve as point person for on-site media photo and film shoots
8. Serve as a spokesperson for the organization when Director is unavailable
9. Oversee public relations interns
10. Compile press kits and manage photo files
11. Maintain a database of local and national press contacts
12. Monitor and track press coverage
13. Update and maintain clip books
14. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
2. 1 – 2 years of related public relations experience
3. Excellent writing, communication, organizational and time management skills required
4. Ability to produce under tight deadlines with multiple priorities
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required
7. Ability to work some early mornings, nights, holidays and weekends
